2019 Jeep Compass

The 2019 Compass offers five trim levels, each featuring standard or individual model features and packages. The available trims for 2019 include the Sport, Trailhawk, Altitude, Latitude, and Limited. Each trim is available in a palette of colors. Some of the exterior features include privacy glass, roof rack, rear window wiper, cargo tie downs, and painted alloy wheels. An upgrade package includes a front skid-plate, tow hooks, polished exhaust, and gloss-black roof and badging.

Each trim is fitted with a 2.4-liter 4-cylinder engine. Depending on the trim, there's a choice of a 6-speed automatic, 6-speed manual, or a 9-speed automatic. Front-wheel drive and four-wheel drive are also available options. The engine produces 180 horsepower at 6400 rpm, has 175 pound-feet of torque at 3900 rpm, and a maximum towing capacity of 2000 lbs. The Jeep's acceleration rating is 0-60 mph in 10.1 seconds.

Performance-wise, the trims are capable of handling any challenge. All trims are consistent in their off-road performance due to a combination of a solid suspension package and high-profile tires which can handle off-road trails and problematic highways with ease. On the highway, the Compass offers a smooth driving experience with solid maneuverability and braking. The 9-speed automatic transmission has been designed with a rev-matching feature that allows for quick downshifting, which comes in handy when punching the pedal for extra speed in passing situations. The Compass has an estimated fuel economy of 22 mpg city/31 mpg highway for a combined rating of 25 mpg.

Comfort is important, and the Compass trims bring plenty of interior features and technology to both passengers and driver. A few of the features, depending on the selected trim, include quality vinyl/cloth fabric, bucket front seats, 6-way manual driver and passenger seat adjustment, split-folding rear seatback, hands-free entry, interior air filtration, overhead console with storage, and front seatback storage. For driver comfort and maneuverability, the Compass includes electric power steering, leather steering wheel, cruise control, tilt and telescopic steering wheel, and audio and cruise control mounted on the steering wheel. Additional features include a rearview camera, trip computer, and a driver height adjustable seat. The Compass also has features such as the Uconnect 4C system, responsive 8.4-inch touch screen, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, front and read USB ports, auxiliary jack, and a 110-volt outlet. Optional features include a sunroof, power liftgate, Beats audio system, a navigation system, xenon headlights, and a Cold weather package.

Safety is addressed with many features to ensure a safe and secure driving experience. The Compass is equipped with many features such as a post-collision safety system, stability and traction control, remote anti-theft alarm system, brake drying, front fog/driving lights, MOPAR Electronic Vehicle Tracking System, cross-traffic alert, and daytime running lights. Passenger safety is covered with front and rear head airbags, front and read headrests, rear center 3-point belts, rear door child safety locks, and child seat anchors. Optional features in the Advanced Safety Package include automatic high beams, lane departure warning and intervention, adaptive cruise control, and forward collision warning.
