The 2021 Jeep Cherokee has three different engines in its lineup, and each one offers its own MPG ratings. The first engine that powers the Latitude and Latitude Plus trim levels is a 2.4L I-4 engine that is mated to a 9-speed automatic transmission. Starting with the Latitude Lux trim, you get a 3.2L V6 that delivers up to 271 horsepower with 239 lb-ft of torque. Alternatively, you can go for a 2.0L turbocharged I-4 that kicks out 270 horsepower with 295 lb-ft of torque. In addition, most Cherokees are standard front-wheel drive, with optional four-wheel drive, which slightly affects your MPG.

When you choose the 2.4L I-4 base engine with front-wheel drive, you’ll get up to an EPA-estimated 22 MPG city/31 MPG highway. With four-wheel drive, this engine offers an EPA-estimated 21 MPG city/29 MPG highway.

If you kick up to the 3.2L V6 engine, with front-wheel drive you'll get an EPA-estimated 20 MPG city/29 MPG highway. This engine with four-wheel drive can give you an EPA-estimated 19 MPG city/27 MPG highway.

Finally, with the turbocharged 4-cylinder engine level, you'll get up to an EPA-estimated 23 MPG/31 MPG highway. If you go with four-wheel drive with this powertrain, you'll get up to an EPA-estimated 21 MPG city/29 MPG highway.
